Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival into Uganda

When you arrive at Entebbe international Airport, our delegate from Africa Nature Trekkers will welcome you and transfer you to the capital Kampala to check into your hotel where you will dine and spend the night.

Day 2 – Transfer to Bwindi Home of the Mountain Gorillas

Today very early morning our Safari guide from Africa Nature Trekkers will pick you right from your accommodation and transfer you to Bwindi Park located in southwestern Uganda.

During this long drive you make a number of stoppers including one at the Uganda equator where you will take pictures. Then another for lunch in Mbarara town – home of the Ankole long-horned cattle. You will continue with the drive past the beautiful hills, banana plantation and traditional homesteads as head to Bwindi park where you will arrive in the late evening.

Day 3 – Encounter the Gorillas of Bwindi

Today we shall enjoy one of the highlight activities on this 4 day safari. Early morning we shall have a quick cup of tea before transferring to the park headquarters where the park warden will brief us about the trekking guidelines.

By 8:00am you’ll set out into the forest in groups of eight people led by park rangers as well as guides. Don’t forget to wear strong hiking boots, carry a rain jacket, pack some water and a snack as well as get a walking stick. The time it will take to eventually meet the gorillas is quite unpredictable since it mainly depends on the mountain gorillas’ movement. Once you find them, you will be allowed to spend on hour in their midst observing them and taking pictures and video. Don’t miss out on the silverback – with its sheer size (approximated to weigh 350 pounds).

After wards you will head back to your accommodation to rest. There will be an optional cultural walk to the Batwa community where you will enjoy great traditional entertainment.

Day 4 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park; see the tree-climbing lions

You will have breakfast, check out of you lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park going through the Ishasha southern area of this park and search for the unique tree-climbing lions in additional to other animals.

Day 5 – Game Drive and Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, you will head out to the Kasenyi track where you will have a game drive and see different animals including buffaloes, lions, elephants and different types of antelopes including the Uganda kobs.  You have lunch back at the lodge and in the afternoon set out for the exciting 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga channel during which you will have a closer encounter of wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and different birds like the like the saddle billed stork, malachite kingfishers, the pink backed pelicans among others. You will head back to your accommodation where you will have dinner and spend the night

Day 6 – Chimpanzees trekking, Return to Kampala

Early in the morning you will head to the park headquarters where you will meet the park warden for a briefing about the chimp trekking experience before setting out on this thrilling guided activity. You will encounter various other primates along the way. You will spend some time taking pictures and observing them.

Later on you will start on the drive back Kampala making a couple of stopovers along the way. You will have dinner and spend the night in Kampala city.

Day 7 – Departure, End of Safari
