Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport

You will be received by a representative from Africa Nature Trekkers and one of our drivers / safari guide at Entebbe International Airport. Who will brief you about your 11 days tour. Give you a short tour with in Entebbe town depending on your arrival time and later transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Africana/Sheraton Hotel/Kampala Serena Hotel/ Holiday Express Hotel/ Excellent Hotel Kampala.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Have breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala and then after transfer to Murchison falls national park. En route, you will pass via the famous Luweero triangle where the war of 1986 occurred. You will proceed with your journey and reach Masindi town in time for Lunch. Have lunch and after enter the park through the Kichumbanyobo Gate. Upon arrival, you will visit the top of the falls where the waters of the mighty river Nile forces its self through a 7 meter narrow gorge. The waters make a thunderous roar of white water as it falls down. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River Lodge/Red chilli Campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive & Launch Cruise

After breakfast, you set out for the early morning game drive in the Northern sector of the Park. Search for big game animals like Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Antelopes, Kobs and so on. Return back to your lodge for Lunch and in the afternoon; go for the launch cruise to the bottom of the falls. This will give you great views of water loving animals like crocodiles, Hippos and also bird species like the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Nile Safari Camp/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Red chilli Campsite

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will set out for your long drive to Kibale Forest National Park. En route you will have lunch in Hoima town and also will have a good scenic view of different landscapes especially the rims of the Great Rift Valley along Lake Albert. You will reach Fort portal in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Primate’s Lodge, Ndali Lodge / Kibale forest Lodge

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking

After breakfast, you will set out for chimpanzee tracking with in the forest to search for man’s closest friends. Also look out for other primates like colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bush babies and many more. Return to the Lodge for lunch and after lunch you will go for a Nature walk in Bigodi Swamp. You will see a lot of bird species and rare flora and Fauna. Dinner and overnight stay at Primate’s Lodge, Ndali Lodge / Kibale forest Lodge

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park. En route, the journey will provide with different scenic views of the great mountains of the moon. You will reach the park with a game drive en route which will offer you with sights of different animals and how they behave at different times. Look out for animals like Elephants, Leopards, Lions and Kobs. You will reach the park headquarters at Mweya in the late afternoon where you will have lunch. Relax while having a small tour around the area. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge, Hippo Hill Camp / Simba Safari Camp

Day 7: Game Drive & Launch Cruise

After an early mornming breakfast, you will set out the game drive to search for the early risers in Kasenyi and Queen Mile side of the Park. Look out for animals like the Lions. Elephants, leopards, hyenas, warthogs, bush pigs, white stripped jackal, bushbucks and so many others. Return back for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon set out for the launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. Expect to see many water loving animals such as Hippos, Crocodiles and many bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Safari Lodge

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will set out for the early morning game drive with in the park to search for the early risers and animals you missed out in the previous game drives. Alternatively, you can go for chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge. Later on have lunch and after transfer to Bwindi Park via the Ishasha sector commonly known for its rare tree climbing lions. As you pass the area, look out for the rare tree climbing lions in fig trees. Proceed and reach Buhoma in the evening where you will rest a bit. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp, Mantana Tented Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast, you will set out for a short briefying from the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials at the Park headquarters in Buhoma. After this, you will align in your groups depending on which Gorilla group to track and will be assigned Ranger guides who will lead you deep into the forest and start your search for these endangered Gorillas. Once you have found the Gorillas, you will have to spend with them only one hour. This will be one of your unforgettable moments of your life. Return back to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight stay at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge, Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas

Day 10: Transfer to Rwanda

After breakfast, you will drive to Rwanda via the Uganda Rwanda Katuna border. Arrive in Kigali town in time for Lunch. In the afternoon, you will drive to Akagera National Park found on the eastern border of Rwanda. Upon arrival, have a game drive to search for animals like the Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, and so on. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 11: Game Drive & Boat Ride On Lake Ihema

You will have an early morning breakfast and set out for the game drive in the park.  This will give you sights of animals you missed out in the previous evening game drive. You will also encounter animals like Giraffes, hyenas and so on. Later after lunch, you will go for the afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema where you will encounter large herds of hippos, crocodiles and a lot of bird species along the lake shores. Dinner and overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge

Day 12: Kigali City Tour

After breakfast, you will depart for Kigali. Upon arrival in the city, you will take a short city tour and visit places like the Genocide Memorial sites, Local African markets, handcraft shops, shopping malls for simple shopping and many more. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Chez Lando / Kigali Serena Hotel

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have breakfast at the lodge in Kigali and later be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi via Katuna border. You will pass through the famous Switzerland of Africa or Kabale district where you will have lunch en route from. This will give you more time to explore the region. After lunch, you will proceed to the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottages, Bunyonyi Overland Resort / Bushara Island Camp

Day 14: Full day at Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will have a boat ride on the lake which will enable you explore the second deepest lakes in Africa. The boat ride will also give you a chance to visit the Pygmies on one of the Islands on the lake and this will enable you learn more about these short people of the Batwa community. Dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi Overland Resort / Bushara Island Camp

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will leave the Cold Kabale district and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch in Mbarara town and later enter into the park with a game drive en route through the Nshara gate. Look out for Zebras, Impalas, bush and water bucks, Kobs and so on. In the afternoon, you will go for the afternoon boat ride to search for water loving animals such as crocodiles and Hippos. The lake is also rich with a variety of bird species like the rare shoe bill stork. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge, Mantana Luxury camp / Rwonyo campsite

Day 16: Game Drive & Boat Ride On Lake Mburo

After breakfast early in the morning, set out for the game drive and search for early risers with in the park. Look out for animals like Zebras, Elephants, impalas, bushbucks and bush duikers, waterbucks, warthogs, and the topis. Return to the lodge for early lunch and after drive back to Kampala. You will have a brief stop at the equator for photographs and crafts to reach Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your Hotel in Kampala

Day 17: Kampala City Tour

After breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, the driver guide will come and brief you shortly about your day’s tour to Kampala.  After the briefing, you will depart for the Kampala City tour. You will visit places Namugongo Marty’s shrine, Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedrals, Makerere University, Uganda Museum, National Theatre and Bahai Temple the only one of its kind in Africa. Cultural sites such as Kasubi Tombs which is known for being the burial place for the 4 kings of the Buganda Kingdom, Nagalabi Coronation grounds and Kabaka’s Palace. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Africana Sheraton Hotel / Kampala Serena Hotel

Day 18: Departure

Have breakfast and then transfer to Entebbe international Airport to catch you flight back home.
