Mweya Safari Lodge is found in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Mweya peninsula. It offers luxury accommodation in the pack, surrounded by Natural Vegetation, amusing views plus the ambiance of the place which creates a good experience and breathtaking moments.
It is located nearby Mountain Rwenzori aptly which is known as the mountain of the moon. In the East of Mweya safari lodge is the great rift western rift valley which is termed as the guardian of the birthplace of mankind, along lies the Kazinga Channel with water which flows into Lake George and Edward.
Recently Mweya safari lodge introduced air ballooning which offers a new experience for the safaris.
Facilities
Swimming Pool
Mweya has a beautiful swimming pool which is near the restaurant, with its nice rock blue waters which offer a god experience especially during the African sun. They offer wonderful cocktail in the nice blue crystal Swimming Pool, while watching the Kazinga Channel. Form the pool with it’s a panoramic view of the Kazinga Channel, which separates Lake George and Lake Edward.
Restaurant & Cuisine
The restaurant has both indoors and outdoors seating’s, for the outdoors are good for those who love to view far beyond and enjoy bird life. The restaurant serves both a la carte and buffet style, with variety of cuisine ranging from continental, English, Vegetarian, and local Ugandan dishes. They also have nice buzz in the dining room, with extra dining experiences like traditional singing and dancing. The outdoor seating also offers a view of the Kazinga Channel. The international specialties which are produced experienced chef makes their food nice and sweat.
The Business Centre
Among the facilities offered at Mweya safari lodge is the Business center for those who tend to work while traveling. It has a quiet atmosphere with internet and computer facilities. Their Business Service Centre are open from 8am to 8pm, for 7 days a week to meets all the needs of the traveling business men and women.
The Gift Shop
Mweya has a gift shop which offers local crafts and curios. This is all for their clients to commemorate their stay at the lodge, the gift shops also sell essential things. Examples of things sold include Guidebooks, clothing, maps, jewelry, shirts and caps. Thus making a client’s stay memorable.
Conference Facilities
The conference facilities at Mweya are the best with a nice ambitious of nature. They offer their clients fully furnished, air conditioned conference room with a well-dressed board-room to service all their client’s business or workshop needs.
Mweya Information Centre
The information centre is located 100 meters from the Lodge gate, it is a Uganda wildlife Authority (UWA) Information Centre which contains some of the excellent demonstrations which describes the national park and the Great Rift Valley plus the environment around.
The Tembo Bar
The Tembo Bar has a wonderful atmosphere with a cool environment situated along a nice panoramic view where one can watch the Kazinga channel and Lake Edward. The bar is well stocked with variety of beverages like wines, and also the staffs are friendly and welcoming. The beautiful twilight the over the lake, with nice drinking a wonderful sundowner, plus the verandahs which offers a perfect place to relax after a day’s trip.
Accommodation
Mweya offers various accommodation varieties ranging from 32 standard rooms, 12 deluxe with air conditioning, two suites, and 2 standard and 2 luxury tents plus several cottages. Most of the rooms at Mweya look out to kazinga channel.
Tents & Cottages
Mweya has four different cottage which are good for families and for those clients who want and enjoy privacy and exclusivity, the standard and deluxe are ensuite rooms and are fully and nicely decorated.
