Kitandara is known to be the best camping area/place for the up-market or mid-range budget clients to Bwindi National park. The camp is next to Bwindi National park and it is overlooking the wonderful forest and the mountain gorillas the tents are unique with some original features yet with modern influences. This moderately priced Camp is a 5 minute walk from the park headquarters in the Buhoma area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park, it is an ideal base for your gorilla tracking experience. The tented camp has been renovated and updated in recent times.
The Camp’s Amenities
Kitandara tented camp has tents which consists of ones with double beds and twin beds and each of which contains ha shower with a flash toilet. The place has solar power electricity which lights inside each tent and bathroom, in case you want to charge your electric gears like cameras, phones then you can charge from the bar or your tented room. Due to it’ s beautiful location of stunning nature and wildlife. The campsite has over twenty (20) well- furnished tents, with en- suite bathrooms (hot & cold-water system). With a 24hour supply of solar electricity in the rooms and bathrooms. more exciting about the place is the nice large veranda which overlook the forest and sometime if lucky enough if might see the mountain gorillas.
Kitandara tented camp provides camping grounds for all those interested in camping and they carry their camping equipment. However, they also provide basic camping facilities for passing travelers.
The bar
The bar is quite distanced (separated) from the restaurant, this is so to create a quite environment as you enjoy your meals so peacefully and in a nice comfort. The meals are included on the price you are charged from. The staffs of Kitandara are nice and warm welcoming, they are known for their friendliness and caring spirits which makes you welcome and feel at home due to their customer care which is beyond ordinary.
The Restaurant
The restaurant of Kitandara is so gorgeous and it is at the main mess tent, it prepares nice and delicious meals, which are prepared by professional chefs with local and international cuisines. They also organize picnic lunches (lunch box) if you are going for a gorilla trek.
