Kingfisher Lodge is located outside the Queen Elizabeth National park at Kichuamba escarpment. The lodge has a magnificent view around and far in the park which creates a breathtaking moment especially after day’s trip, it is about 250 meters from the park. The lodge are owned by the Germans.

The lodge also has a swimming pool to cool you off after the long drive from Kampala.  With their special cuisines prepared by good chefs they also offer an Italian Style Pizza from their wood fired oven. Kingfisher also has nice beautiful gardens with a quite environment that refreshes and relaxes your mind.

The Rooms

The accommodation rage from 2 family units, 2 double rooms, 2 triple rooms, with 1 en-suite and more to that the lodge has the capacity of accommodating 36 visitors. The rooms are clean and large, well furnished, with mosquito nets. They have a very good track record at the Kingfisher Lodge in Jinja and hope to continue that at Queen Elizabeth National Park.  It has turned out be a lovely facility at a moderate price.

Restaurant

The restaurant at Kingfisher Lodge in Kichwamba has an indoor dining which offer a good view over park. All food is prepared with specialized chefs who are well skilled in preparing local and international cuisines. You can order for your favorite foods and it can be cooked for as long as you place in your request in time and it can only take for about 40 minutes and you get your food. They can also deliver it to your room on request if you give in your room number.

Swimming pool

The lodge has two sections of pool. The first one is the one for kids, it is an upper pool with about three (3) feet deep and it is connected with a water slide to a lower pool about a foot. Thus creating memorable experience to the children.

The second pool is for adults, and it is about 5 feet deep. It is situated in a position that enables you to watch the park. They are constructing a hot tub for their clients and also just like the kid’s pool with slides they are also establishing a lower, deeper pool that also connects to pool. The equatorial sun which is hot and warm especially during the dry season encourages sunbathing. Thus creating a relaxing, joyful and refreshing experience as you watch the park from far. Due to the fact that the lodge is near the park you are able to see numerous bird species on trees, ground and in flight thus the lodge is a good place for birders for example sun birds and flycatchers.
