Gorilla safari lodge is a comfortable and mid-range lodge on the boundary line of Bwindi impenetrable forest, that provide an ideal base for those interested in trekking Uganda gorillas. The place is known for its biodiversity and it large number of Mountain gorillas (half of the world’s mountain gorillas).

The Rooms

The lodge offers accommodation in large rooms which are comfortable, well furnished, well decorated in African art, and self- appointed cottages with a cozy fireplace Each cottage has a solar powered lighting plus the en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold water, flush toilet and a nice veranda which offers an opportunity to view the wonderful tropical rain forest.

Lodge facilities

The main lodge consists of a restaurant, bar, longue, and a campfire all of which face the tropical rain forests. For the case of the campfire, it is lit every evening and around it guests gather and share some of the African tales as well as share their safari experience.

How to get to Gorilla safari lodge

There are many ways to get to the lodge mainly using road and air transport as the mode of transport to get you to the lodge. You can book a flight from kajjansi Airstrip or Entebbe airport to Kisoro airfield, then from there you will travel by land to the lodge.  You can also travel by land using local means like taxis, buses, car hire, boda boda, or your own private car and you travel though Masaka, Mbarara, lastly to Kabale then from kabale you have to break off and pass Muko and then to Nshongi where the lodge is, which is approximately 427km roughly seven to eight hour drive (7-8hrs).

The lodge has nice, welcoming and attentive staffs that are ready to serve you.

The Restaurant

The meals are served at the main lodge, the food is delicious prepared by professional chefs and served by well-trained staffs, making you enjoy your stay at the lodge as well as being cooled by quit environment surrounded by trees and birds thus making your stay memorable. Full breakfast is served every day before you go for gorilla trekking. The lodge has got a fully stocked bar with variety of beverage for you to choose from. They also offer packed meals to their clients if wanted or requested.

Additional activities

Other activities and services include a campfire that is lit every evening, baby siting service, a spa centre offering massage. There is also hiking and canoeing, plus a visit to the local community and on top of that enjoy local entertainment with songs and dances by the local people.
